Based in Houston, Texas, the Houston Astros are an American professional baseball team who play their home games at the Minute Maid Park (originally the Enron Field). As a member of the Major League Baseball, the Houston Astros play in the Central Division of the National League. The team is owned by Drayton McLane, Jr. together with juice manufacturer Minute Maid. They were founded in 1962 and were originally called the Houston Colt .45s and were renamed as the Houston Astros after three years. The team lost a couple of playoffs in 1980, 1981 and 1986, but were able to make playoffs appearances since the end part of the 90s to the early part of the year 2000.
