The St. Louis Cardinals are a member of the Central Division of Major League Baseball’s National League. They are currently based in St. Louis, Missouri. They are second to the New York Yankees when it comes to the number of World Series Championships won, having scored a total of ten ever since they first played. The St. Louis Cardinals were originally established as the St. Louis Brown Stockings, an American Association team which took the name of a previous team in the National League. In 1892, the team joined the National League and were renamed as the Cardinals in 1900. Their closest rivals are the Chicago Cubs, but are also joining the race with the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds lately.
