An American professional basketball team based in Sacramento, California, the Sacramento Kings are members of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Western Conference.  Their home court is the Power Balance Pavilion, and are the only “big four” sports league team based in Sacramento.  The Sacramento Kings first stareted as a local semi-pro basketball team in Rochester, New York during the 1920’s.  They are currently considered one of the oldest teams in the league.  In 1945, the Rochester Royals (their former name) joined the National Basketball League (NBL) and avoided the Basketball Association of America (BAA), and in 1949 became members of the NBA (post NBL and BAA merger).  They transferred to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1957 and were then called the Cincinnati Royals.  After that, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri later on and became the Kansas City Kings.  Finally, in 1985, they relocated to Sacramento and were subsiquently named the Sacramento Kings.  Looking for Sacramento Kings snapbacks?
