The Pittsburgh Steelers are a member of the National Football League (NFL) and currently play at the American Football Conference’s (AFC) North Division. An American football team that is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Steelers were established in 1933 as the AFC’s oldest franchise team. Holding the top record in winning more AFC Championship games, Super Bowl titles and conference championships appearances than any other NFC or AFC franchise, the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to win the Super Bowl XLIII just recently in 2009. They were originally called the Pittsburgh Pirates and were founded and named by its owner, Art Rooney. At present, the team is still owned by the Rooney family. They formerly played their home games in Forbes Field and Pitt Stadium but at present use the Heinz Field on the North Side of Pittsburgh as their home court.
