Based in Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Seahawks are members of the National Football League (NFL) and play in the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC). They are a professional American football team that became a member of the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team, together with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Seattle Seahawks were able to make an appearance in only one Super Bowl at the Super Bowl XL in 2006. They are the only team in the NFL to have won a division title in a complete season, and won a playoff against the New Orleans Saints six days after the said victory. They have won a total of seven division titles so far, and were hailed as the Champions in 2005.
