An American professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York, the Buffalo Sabres are a member of the National Hockey League (NHL) and play in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference.  They first joined the league during the 1970-1971 season.  The Buffalo Sabres were first owned by Western New Yorkers, Northrup Knox and Seymour Knox III.  The Sabres were originally the Buffalo Bisons and were renamed as the Sabres through a “name the team” contest that was launched by the owners.  The team had several members included in the Hockey Hall of Fame including Tim Horton, Dick Duff, Dale Hawerchuk, Grant Fuhr, Pat LaFontaine, Clark Gillies and Gilbert Perreault.  They have also won different trophies such as the Calder Memorial Trophy, the Presidents’ Trophy of 2006-2007, the Hart Memorial Trophy, Prince of Wales Trophy and many others.  Looking for Buffalo Sabres snapbacks?
