Based in Dallas, Texas, the Dallas Stars are a member of the National Hockey League (NHL) and play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. They are an American professional ice hockey team founded in 1967 as an expansion franchise of the NHL. Originally called the Minnesota North Stars, the team was formerly based in Bloomington, Minnesota. It was before the 1993-1994 season when they finally moved to Dallas, Texas and were renamed as the Dallas Stars. They currently play their home games at the American Airlines Center located in Dallas, Texas as well. Their team colors are gold, white, green and black. Hicks Sports Group is the current owner of the franchise, with Tom Hicks as the chairman. There is currently no head coach for the team, but Brenden Morrow is the team captain.
