The Montreal Canadiens or the “le Club de Hockey Canadien” are a professional ice hockey team in Montreal, Canada. They are a member of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League. Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, La Sainte-Flanelle, Le Tricolore, Les Glorieux , Les Habitants are just few of the team’s nicknames. The team was founded in the year 1909 and is the longest continuously operating professional ice hockey team. They are one of the Original Six teams, teams that consist of the NHL since 1942 until the 1967 expansion.  The Montreal Canadiens have won 24 championships, where 22 of which occurred when the cup was solely competed for in the NHL in 1927.
