The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team that are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). They were founded in Kansas City Missouri in 1974 and are based in Newark, New Jersey, United States. They were moved to Denver, Colorado as the Colorado Rockies but later on settled in New Jersey by 1982. In their first 13 seasons, they have only made the playoffs once. However, under general manager Lou Lamoriello, the team have made it to the playoffs on all 13 seasons from 1997 to 2010. They have won the Stanley Cup in 1995, 2000 and 2003. In the 2010-2011 season, the New Jersey Devils’ head coach Jacques Lemaire retired and was replaced by their all-time leading scorer John Maclean and made former team head Larry Robinson and all-star Adam Oates as assistants.
